A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, Satu was born from a Trinidadian mother and a Finnish father. At age 12, her family moved to the deep South, where Satu was raised. Satu (Finnish for “fairytale”), graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Communication Studies degree and a French minor. Her favorite classes were philosophy, acting for the camera, and music.
After graduation, there was no doubt in her mind where destiny would take her. Satu wanted more than the simple small-town life, so she packed her bags and took off for the Big Apple with dreams of making it big as an actress.
“I always had it in me to pursue the arts,” says the Renaissance woman. “I knew I would never be happy if I hadn’t tried my best at a profession I was born to do.”
After starring in several independent features and shorts {Communication Breakdown (Lost Colony Entertainment), Born of Blood (Bandurango Films), & In the Woods (RREG Entertainment)}, Satu tried her hand at producing TV pilots for entertainment shows and comedy.
A “Jane-of-all-trades,” she loves to get her hands on anything and everything artsy. Her favorite passions include playing guitar, violin, painting, graphic design, comic books, hockey, and listening to music. There is no mistaking this woman for a true-blue metal head.
“My greatest fixation of all is music. All kinds of metal makes my knees weak…. the key to my heart: Chocolate, a foot massage, and some good hard thrash!”
